Interesting thread, started out about how to get started with single drivers, and has turned into the more stereotypical "how to perfect" single drivers discussion!

I use the b200 Visatons in open baffle.  I sit about 8 feet from them, they are about 8 feet apart, and located with the system in a corner, and they are around 2 feet from the slanting back wall behind them.

I listen to things that range from Spacemusic, world, jazz, vocal, small and large scale symphonic, electronica, classic rock, and audiophile - pretty much all but rap and country.

For 100Hz and up, they are perfect.

Not enough bass for me, but plenty of treble, on axis as I listen.

So, I will basically follow the well worn path of adding powered subs, to have a biamped, active system.  I have experimented with several DIY subs so far, but none have been right yet.

I will soon have the opportunity to A/B these DIY speakers against some nice 2 and 3 ways from RAW in Canada - I look forward to listening to these, and discerning how the mids and highs differ - I know that the bass on the RAW speakers will be much better.

So, to date, there is no perfect speaker for me - but also to date, what the b200's do right, outweigh the frustrations of what they do not, and for the $400 I have in them, it is a no brainer to keep using them!

The only way to know, is to listen, and find out!

      Chris,

Yes, I know about the sale but I just don't have $$$. And I think I will put money on something else since I already have SET amps, totally definrent than the DRD but I love them :D

But... Chris if you are looking for a 300B amps to pair wiht hi-e speaker than do put them on your list, you can't go wrong with them.  :D

      Take care,
