which would be best for most types of music?
with a Stratos amp
medium room
CDs and computer audio only (no TT)
will also be fronts in HT setup
I am familiar with the 804s and like them a lot. A local dealer has a good trade-up program so I can ease my way into them ($4000!)... but i don't love the 700 series B&Ws. I like the idea of something different like the Loreleis... I can't hear them though. Has anyone, other than one guy on Audioreview.com, compared these two speakers?
It would be nice ...
I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to listen to both speakers but not in the same room and environment. I've always been a big fan of B&W, especially the look of their speakers but not the price. Last week, I got a chance to listen to the Lorelei for the first time at a fellow AC member's house (Peter59). Of course, his room is treated with acoustic treatment from 8thNerve, but Man oh Man!! the Lorelei sound so wonderful with a hughe soundstage. The treble is not harsh, the midrange is clear and very dynamic and the bass are firm and tight. Female Vocals are vivid and completely believeable. Sure, we all have our preferences but to my ear, the Lorelie can deliver the music that make you want spend more and more time with her.
In your case, I would go with the Lorelei since you already have the Stratos. There is something special about Lorelie when matting with Odyssey gears. Synergy!!! as Klaus usually refers to this relationship.
