Yeah, I remember moving from NY to Virginia 12 years ago...my auto insurance dropped to $800 from $2200.00 yearly.  And, my wife and I had several good drivers discounts applied, as well.

When I moved to DC, I think the rated nudged up to $1300.00 a couple years later.

NY auto insurance (I think NJ is the highest, tho) is costly madness.

Now back to our regularly scheduled (increasingly ugly) topic on Audio Central....

That is exactly my point.  AC is host a fine consortium of lesser known audio manufacturers.  None of them deserve to be made sport by hacks from within or incompetent wannabe apprentices from without.  In the case of the latter, I think flags should be posted, as they are far more dangerous.  Moreover, there is nothing wrong with scrutinizing the self appointed gurus and calling a spade a spade.  I doubt there is any maunfacture here on AC or on the outside that would argue that.

I agree that they don't deserve to be made "sport" of if the reviewer is being disingenuous.

However, when the reviewer is being genuine, I think that everyone, no matter how green, has every right to comment on any product in the marketplace.  

It is up to the public readers to filter the fluff from the gold.

I think I pay about $450 per YEAR for my old truck (liability only) but full coverage on the minivan.     :-)

He might be green but he did bring up some interest points.  Honestly I was looking to buy a used ref8 as the price seems reasonable but not now.  The biggest problem I have with NuForce is that they knowingly sold bunch of those defective ref8 with RF problem.

Oh, and I made the following post in the DIYaudio forums a while ago, I think it exactly expresses my sentiments regarding this.

As for the people that think I don't know how to properly match components in a system, rest assured I do. I've been building loudspeakers, amplifiers and just about everything else from scratch for the past 15-years and I also happen to have a MSEE, which does come in handy when wrapping your head around things.

So please, unless you can provide me with some valid arguments why I'm less qualified than any of the journalists that can't distinquish a transistor from an arse biscuit if it fell from their undies please refrain from uttering such nonsense comments.

And to further up the ante, when has a Audio Precision measurement system ever lied? I think Audio Precision would be making toasters or worse, fuse-boxes, if you could not rely on the data generated by their equipment.

If you start quoting that, I think you should also quote the other side of the story, which puts things back into perspective. And what's with the personal attacks? Can't attack the problem hence attack the person, that's soo childish, I'm quessing you can't formulate any proper arguments about our findings which makes you resort to such tactics?
