A while back I posed the question : " Do you think he'll ever make another album ? "
I don't think he will...and I'm OK with that. I saw him again on what would turn out to be his final tour and it was a hell of a show - he was not diminished in any way and he was ( as always ) fronting a HOT band. Touring on a solid new album, he had not been reduced to the level of so many of his peers peddling nostalgia or croaking his way through some travesty of a "best-of" show in front of a handfull of die-hards. Johnny Rotten was right - you can just walk away. Perhaps Bowie was letting us know that he knew this when he wrote a song late in his career which referenced a song fron Hunky Dory decades earlier : "The pretty things are going to Hell/They wore it out but they wore it well..."
Halloween Jack wore it well indeed.
