Scattergood, a graduate of the same Brit School that produced Adele and Amy Winehouse, makes glossy, electro-pop with a decadent center. Here tremulous self-lacerations are paced by thumping four-on-the-floor dance rhythms, desperate confessions pumped up with swooping billows of strings. Songs like “I Hate the Way” feel simultaneously like big production numbers and nervous breakdowns. “Pass me some pills and I’ll go to bed,” Scattergood trills, to a rising swell of synths and dance drums. It’ll make you queasy if you let it, this combination of huge pop gesture and suicide note, but it is, naturally, the main thing that makes Scattergood’s debut interesting. ..http://www.dustedmagazine.com/reviews/5044

Martin - From the description, it doesn't seem like young Ms Scattergood (love that name ) plays Bat for Lashes type music.  Do you like the cd?

Phoenix - Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix.

Gentlemen only, wealthy gentlemen only. Only the fortunate only.  It could have been something else.  These days, it comes and comes and comes and comes and goes. Lisztomania, the class to see it grow.  Like a ride, like a ride, oh.  Not easily offended. Not let it go.  From a mass to the masses. Lisztomania.

Catchy French Indie pop.

Jesus Acedo is the quixotic leader of Black Sun Ensemble who, on the basis of his enigmatic recordings, has been hailed by critics as one of the most innovative guitarists of our time...Born on Christmas Eve, 1962 in Tucson, Arizona, to Mexican immigrant parents, Acedo was one of eight children, the only one with an interest in music. After the death of his father in 1975, Acedo grieved by immersing himself in music. He spent most of his early adolescence at the Tucson public library listening to Ravi Shankar and Led Zeppelin records. At this time, Acedo bought a guitar. In high school, he began experimenting with the unique tunings of his guitar that give his music what one reviewer reverently called "peculiarly mystical, twangy, meditative, Middle Eastern rock sound". Muze, in describing his style, said he can "spit blasts of dragon fire or conjure the exotic, iridescent mystique of peacock feathers with a single stroke."...Camera Obscura Records
