Saw this offbeat movie tonight and liked it a lot. It had a very good soundtrack featuring Alexi Murdoch, a new artist to me.

http://www.rasputina.com/

Quote
Melora a la Basilica is a 1000 unit collector's edition live recording made by chamber-rock trio Rasputina in Basilica Industria in Hudson, NY, "a behemoth of a defunct glue factory". It is a collection of previous Rasputina songs reworked with new band member Daniel DeJesus and covers of songs by Goldfrapp, Pearl Jam and the Sweeney Todd and A Clockwork Orange soundtracks[1]. The sound and atmosphere of the record is patterned after the recitals given earlier in the year by Creager and new second chair cellist Daniel DeJesus.

Lee Morgan- Tom Cat (Blue Note).  The more I listen to this, the more I'm glad Michael Cuscana liberated this from the BN vaults.  Jackie McLean is SO good!  And who knew McCoy Tyner could play bop this good?  Turn it up.  And get loose.  Or vice versa.

Procal Harum
Exotic Birds And Fruit

ON CD

Exotic Birds And Fruit was recorded during the winter of 1973 / 74 at AIR Studios at a period in British history when a three–day working week was imposed. A studio generator had to be cranked into action in order to complete the album for its scheduled release in the Spring of 1974. Produced by Chris Thomas (his fifth for Procol) this album was a definite "let's get back to the rock songs album", as stated by Procol's Gary Brooker in 1974

Back home from the ER now, trying to enjoy a little recovery time after a day filled with the most intense pain I've ever felt (Kidney Stones), and a few hours of an IV drip of Dilaudid, then upped to Morphine to try and bring the pain to a manageable level. Hopefully, the Percoset will be strong enough for the flare ups at home over the next few days.
