I saw both of them in concert tonight at Terminal 5.

I'm jealous. How were they, as if I need to ask aa.

Laura

Hi Laura,
It was the first time I saw Brett Dennen and he has a nice "act".  His band is very tight.  A lot of his songs have a reggae beat or flavor, and he encourages the audience to sing along on a lot of his songs.

As for GPN, this is the third time I've seen the band live in the past 11 months.  The new members, Catherine Popper and Benny Yurco are fitting in nicely with the other members.  Especially Catherine, I think she's a better bass player than Bryan was with the band.  The band played five or six new songs that will be included in their new album coming out next spring.  Grace was also encouraging the audience to sing along on some of the older songs, and it was apparent that a lot of them knew the lyrics.  As usual, the band gave a fantastic performance.  You can feel the energy from the band the whole concert, especially since I was standing right in the front, by the center of the stage.

I'm on a road trip in New Zealand and have been listening to a lot of my son's music. Brett was highlighted for a long stretch and he's music was varied and very cool in the singer-songwriter vein.  Paul, none of it had a reggae sensibility, so I'm assuming things are changing. It's cool seeing what's happening here. Having fun.

Neil Young-  Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere (Reprise).  I need the best possible re-release of this.  I've read it's on his Greatest Hits double album.  That right?

Wolfsama-  Once again you've proven to be one of the world's most resourceful and generous of men.  Think I'm going with the 200g remastered Live at Fillmore East from Classic Records.  Thanks.

Len,

Brett seems to have change the flavor of some of his recorded songs from what he's performing during this current tour.  The beat and instrumental breaks by his tour band favors the reggae genre.  Since this is the first time I've seen him live, so I don't know if he was more faithful to his recordings in past tours.

Ana Popovic -- Still Making History

If you're not a blues purist, you'll love the fiery, passionate playing and singing of Serbian  blues-rock guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter Ana Popovic.
