Delicate. Amazing. Surprising. Found it for free on the street with another 250 CDs. Crazy what folks throw out these days.

I hear some compression on this...liked her recent "Elephants..." so much I picked up this, her debut(?). Elephants...would be a 4-5 star album, superior sonics, songwriting and mastering. Happenstance is just that, happens in a few instances...2-3 stars.

Rachael Yamagata, happenstance.

Hey Martin.  Rachael's debut is a self-titled EP, which came out a year before Happenstance, and includes a couple of songs that were included in the latter cd.  I have both and I'm getting Elephants based on your recommendation.  Paul
