The big bad Wolf made me wanna' hear her too.
THis box set has been sitting around on the shelf for ages, in fact three of the 5 discs are still shrink wrapped...checking out the "rare pearls" extra disc of previously unreleased materials, mostly live stuff.
Next up will be "I got dem Kozmic blues again mama" disc.

Box of Pearls: The Janis Joplin Collection

Hey, Lonewolf - I have that "3 days of peace and music" poster framed and up on my bedroom wall - I bought it at Woodstock.
I was interviewed a couple of days ago by the local newspaper because I was the only one they could find around here (Victoria BC) who had actually been there!

As I said in the interview, in my mind the stars were Janis Joplin and The Who (the Harlots of 42nd Street should have been there), but the real unknown star of the show was Ravi Shankar. The crowd reaction to his 45 minute piece was instantaneous and intense beyond that for any other act, yet I seldom see his presence even mentioned.

I was there too Russell...still have my uncollected tickets....what a deal it was.

Many good performances....Sly Stone stands out for me....good late night pick me up.

I stayed for Hendrix at the end...but I didn't enjoy the mud that weekend. :?

I was looking forward to attending the Powder Ridge Festival in 1970....but...it was canceled...afraid of another Woodstock...this time in CT.

More uncollected tickets.....and no refunds...
