Queens Of The Stone Age - Like Clockwork 2013

I like this. It is a real progression for this band and there is a lot going on here. On first listens it lacks the "instant classic album" feel of something like Clutch's Earth Rocker but it sounds like a grower and has the depth to invite repeated listening. Lots of synth sounds that I thought were buried along with ELP. This could be a good year for hard rock / metal.

Started yesterday to listen to all 22 Cds of the igor Stravinsky (as conductor of his own works)
I am up to Cd #11 now.
Most sound fine. Except one item was so compressed I was amazed how blatant it sounded. The softer passages were all Ok, but as soon as the full orchestra came it it got no louder.. Just super congested and 'flat' sounding. Worst recording I ever heard. I have no idea what the recording originally was for.. Maybe some radio broadcast they could not fix.

Otherwise interesting for the Stravinsky I have never heard before..

It's a nice collection (and was a great bargain when I got it). The Oedipus Rex on disc 18 is the by far the worst sounding piece on this set, however. Like you said most of the rest sound fine.
