Gary:
I'm sure you don't need all those LP's taking up room and gathering dust. I'll take them off your hands
I was listening to Haydn yesterday that I just happen to have on vinyl and also have the ripped CD on my HDD. We did an informal (no DB test)comparison for fun. To mine and my lady's ears it was very close but analog still sounds better. My source components are good enough to give a valid comparison, I think. The inner detail and separation are close but timber and dynamics were better on vinyl, and that particular record doesn't have a flawless surface.
I'm keeping both sources because there is music that I can't find in one format or the other. Just so I don't give the wrong impression, I think PC audio is a great step forward in digital playback. I still see threads where guys are asking opinions about one box CDP's and I think-haven't they heard good PC based audio?
