The first issue of Inside AVA is now available at our web site:  www.avahifi.com

Some might gripe because the first issue is more of a marketing tool than anything else, but Larry did a great job with it and it will give you an excellent look at the new Ultra preamp products and more.

It allowed us to get a lot of new info on our web site quickly before we have had the time to update the actual site page by page, which is a really big job ahead of us.

Take a look at Inside AVA and if you like it, thank Larry, he did it all.

Cool.

Very nicely laid out and informative. The description of the new board and improved grounding for the preamps was interesting to read. It was also great to see the pictures. I really like the new look of the 17" chassis.

Good job, Larry!

Look forward to future issues....

Very nice job. It would have been nice to post a price list for the new poducts
and upgrades in this first issue since the website has not yet been updated. Otherwise a very good job. Looking forward to more newsletters. Keep it up Larry!

http://www.avahifi.com/root/ordering_info/price.htm

and click on "download new price list" near the top of the page.

I appreciate the updated information but IMO the website should be updated before issuing newsletters.  Its a PITA to have to look in three or more places to find the current offerings/descriptions/prices or to keep adding "bandaid" notes to the website saying that multiple screens are out of date.

This is the storefront that only the devoted or determined would use.  Unfortunately AVA isn't the only company here that requires shoppers to carry their own pick axe and lamp for data mining.  Perhaps some of the computer whiz folks here could help them out.

The problem with updating the web site is not that we need a computer whiz, we have one.  But the "whiz" can only do what we create and ask him to do.

It is up to me mostly and Larry to come up with the verbage and photos, etc.

The new equipment faceplates only became available a short time ago, and I am still overloaded with routine mundate work, like designing new back labels for the big chassis for all itterations, getting a new U70 ready to go to the sheet metal bender for a prototype chassis (yup, its coming soon), making sure all the new complex PC cards I designed in between surgeries and recoveries are working as designed (they are, in spades, the first time around), paying bills, and filling your orders (they keep coming in at a very nice rate, thank you).

My fall episode with artery bypass surgeries on both legs (one at a time) and a very difficult recovery from the second surgery set me back a couple of months here.  Now there is one more surgery scheduled for the end of March, an easy one in comparison, a hip joint replacement, after that I should be good as new and able to move a lot faster and without constant pain.

Anyway, please no gripes about having to mine the site with a pickaxe for the time being.  The Inside AVA newsletter was the fastest way to get a bunch of new info up there for you, with easy to find links to a new .pdf price sheet too.

And duuuuuh, if you know how to use a telephone, when you call me at 651-330-9871 the chances are very very good I will be the one to pick up the phone directly, there is no electronic maze on our phones, I hate then and what I enjoy most about this business I have been doing for the past 40 years and will continue doing until they carry me out of here is talking to you on the phone and answering your questions, whether they are about our equipment or just helping you out with general advice.

Now, chill out and give us a chance.

One suggestion... POOFREAD. hehe

I noticed some errors that are spell-checker resistant.

No, I was thinking more of words that are spelled correctly but aren't the right word. A good example would be where it says "...as we start of our 40th year in the audio..."

I see some run-on sentences and comma splices too.

On the other hand, an AVA preamp works well even if you spell it prixamp, so it's not a big deal. :)

Well from the teaser towards the end of the newsletter it looks like AVA will be introducing a new product soon.

I look foward to hearing about it in upcoming newsletters.

All the best.

Sorry to have ruffled your feathers Frank, but it would be less work in the long run if all the information was organized and you'd only have to input it once if the site were kept updated.

I very much appreciate your willingness to talk with your customers, but often we just need to browse the store first.
