surge protection question

Howdy y'all,

I'm in the process of installing two dedicated 20-amp circuits for my system.   I currently plug the digital and the amp into a BPT, and the preamp into the wall.

My question is:  How should I address, if at all, the surge protection issue?

Option A:  install protection at the breaker panel for the whole house; plug the amps into the wall; everything else into the BPT.  Advantage: protecting everything in my house and can plug the amps into the wall.  Disadvantage:  cost and may not be able to find a "audio quality" surge protection panel.

Option B: install one 20-amp protection panel  (e.g. Brickwall industrial) at the breaker panel for one of the dedicated circuits (for the amps) and, use the BPT for the other dedicated circuit (all non-amp equipment).  Advantage: cost less, can plug the amps into the wall.  Disadvantage: may not be able to find "audio quality" protection panel.

Option C:  put a surge protection device (e.g. Brickwall audio) between the outlet and the amps.  Advantage:  lower cost.  Disadvantage: this means an additional device/powercord is between the amps and the outlet.

Option D:  forget about it.  Just install the dedicated circuits; plug the amps into the wall; everything else into the BPT

Option E/F/G:  your comments/inputs are here

Sorry for the long post.  Any thoughts are appreciated.

I did something like this (though mine was cheaper):

You can protect your whole house.  Sadly, I cannot as of yet vouch for performance.  They sell the kind I purchased at Home Cheapo.

I don't know if this helps or not, but Bryston is now selling power conditioners made by Torus power. They have NEMA versions that mount at the panel and provide surge protection on all circuits running from them. There are also rack mount versions.

and talk to James Tanner in the Bryston/PMC circle.
