HT8 ready for release
« on: 30 Dec 2005, 04:17 am »
Here they are.
Our new HT8 finished in a exotic Lacewood figure.
This pair will be at CES for those wanting to stop by and have a listen.

Designing the HT8 ,these are not a standard cabinet construction at all.
We have a upper compartment for the MTM sealed in a TL shape which brings the vocal depth and imaging out of the design.Having a non standard shape cabinet makes the reflections inside the MTM more controled.

As well the lower compartment is a TL shape ported.

Parts in the HT8 uses Sonicap caps with Mills resistors.
Along with 4 platinum bypass caps in each speaker.
All parts are hand matched to maxium tolerance while assembly
Inductors are dewound as well to match each set of parts per pair of speakers.
All drivers are matched pairs.

Having the MTM with twin sidefiring drivers tuned to 27hz makes in a slim floor stander very easy to place in any room.Side loading the woofers you can control the low end by positioning them to a wall or away from a wall.

Now those looking at kits sorry not for the HT8.
The HT8 will be complete only.
Along with these
Spikes
http://www.soundfusion.ca/VibeBuster8.htm
We did looked around and we find that these will work very well with our HT8 and will offer them as upgrades to our HT3 for those who would like to add them as well.
Prices to come.

Now a little inside the HT8

Here is a Electric 100uf cap $.97  closest to the front of the photo
then a large 100uf Solen 250v poly cap.$25.00
And a stack of Sonicap caps with a platinum bypass cap $195.00 for the same cap value.

Does it make a difference in the midrage .
Yes it does the hT8 warrent this quality yes it does.

After having a few kits that are a very good dollar value we wanted to step up a few levels with our new HT8.

Comments we look forard to meeting you at CES.

All the best in the New Year.

They look beautiful :). Will your room be two channel or multichannel? How is the WMTMW center coming along? Having them with upgraded HT2s as surrounds would be incredible. A little ove the top... but not as much as the Apex and it's center channel will be. I wish I could come and listen.

Well, I didn't have much fun in LV, as I had scheduled meetings with several companies, but our proprietary projector technology was in a Toshiba projector in their booth as well as T.I.'s booth.  But, I digress.
I had a very nice, long conversation with Al (yes, he does speak much better than he writes   ).

Seriously, those HT8's are marvelous.  Considering the soundstage and cabinet 'look' with the finish that Al specifies, they are winners indeed!

Thanks for dropping by Hank, I had a great time getting to spend a few minutes to talk to you.And glad that you liked the HT8 sorry we can not turn down the woofer's.
Even with 3 bass traps and 4 acoustic panels in that small room the HT8 just over load the room very hard.

Over all we had a very good show with a lot of thanks going to Dan from Adire along with Kevin from DIY Cable.

We will get some pictures up in the next day of the room's for those who have been waiting to see what the demo room looked like.

Yes George

We are just getting everything ready for them in the next week to publish all the info for the HT8.

Our new HT8 will come out of the box as complete as we can offer a pair of speakers.
From the ground we have SoundFusion spikes which are Vibe Buster 8 is an audiophile quality, adjustable 3/4" O-ringed solid brass spike, which is threaded into proprietary base molded from specially formulated nylon.

The base was specifically made from specially formulated nylon and not from any other material to completely eliminate any vibrations, which can occur between base and the spike. Furthermore, to ensure complete neutrality, an O-ring was added and is placed into a special O-ring chamber in the nylon base.

The height of adjustment of the spike is up to 1/2" (1.3 cm). The brass spike, nylon base and the O-ring work in conjunction to ensure complete elimination of vibration in any point of adjustment.
Adjusting Rod Included with Vibe Buster 8 is a 4" long, 3/16" diameter stainless steel rod, which is used to precisely adjust the spike by hand-turning. This stainless steel rod functions as a stopper to protect the brass spike from threading beyond the 1/2" (1.3 cm) adjusting limit. The base of Vibe Buster 8 can be attached to any audio component regardless of the material the component is constructed from. Included are self tapping screws for wooden surfaces as well as double-sided foam tape gaskets, precisely die-cut to the shape of the nylon base, for adhesion to any other surface?

These spikes go into 30mm thick bases with a satin black finish flush to the front and rear of the speakers with 2" on each side for stability.

Cabinets are braced every 6" we have done this as the sleek look requires 3/4" MDF to keep the size to 7" in width for the HT8 the same slim look as the HT3.But using 3/4" MDF we did not want any resonation issues so we have done bracing every 6" threw the cabinet.

The bottom plate of the cabinet is 30mm for a thick plate to have threaded inserts installed for attaching the bases to.

Hand matching drivers for each pair of finished HT8 from the twin 6.8" drivers on the side of each cabinet. Having the drivers and able to match 4 drivers the same is time consuming but well worth the time we put into our product.

The same is done for matching drivers for the mid's as well we match and have 4 the same this makes both pair of speakers the same for drivers.

Lining our cabinets we line the HT8 with our RAW ICE material for acoustic absorbtion. This material is covered on all the walls of the MTM and the exposed walls of the Woofer compartment.

Crossover components.
Pure Sonicap no poly no electric caps used.
Platinum bypass cap on each Sonicap threw the HT8 crossover.
Inductors we have wound for us and check each inductor and dewind if needed to have a small tolerance

Assembled with a burn in time of 7 days after the speakers are complete.

Finish is coming on the HT8 as a standard Ball Sapele with other finishes as option for addition charges.

PRE ORDER Price for the HT8 including shipping $4999.99

And for the first 4 orders we will be putting in a little bonus.
Free pair of RAW FR in Quilted Maple, Koa, Wenge , Waterfall Makore.
This special is a limited time frame on the first 4 pair sold along with the FREE RAW FR speaker’s one pair in each finish.

Pictures of the HT8 finished in Lacewood and the Koa FR we had at CES.
