Hantra is right, my original post was highly sarcastic, although it was not specifically aimed at him. Hopefully the re-write is a little more constructive.
I don't dispute your claims that Bybees affect the sound, but I am curious enough to ask why. The obvious answer is that they are chokes.
In the AC line, they filter out HF noise. That is a good thing. The bad thing is that the power supplies in your components aren't doing this for themselves. This is understandable since no one pays any attention to this aspect of audio components, and the manufacturers can save a few bucks by cutting corners here.
In interconnects they also filter out HF. This is why people say they lower the noise floor. Unfortunately, they are not selective about when they reduce HF. They reduce it, period. I would venture a guess that they have been carefully engineered to introduce a subtle, barely perceptible reduction in the HF in the line level signal.
I really applaud the engineers at Bybee Technologies. They have done an excellent job of re-direction. They are selling chokes that aren't chokes. They have put together a product description full of adjectives that give audiophiles woodies. They are selling products using top secret submarine technology that apparently no one else on the planet has access to. In reality, this is just a group of engineers that are having some chokes fabricated to their specifications, and are taking advantage of the gullibility of the audiophile community. Right-on Bybee Technologies!!!
