Depends on who terminated them.  They could be worthless if the person terminating them didn't know what they were doing.

Depends on how they sound and synergize with your system.

I have not heard good things about Cardas cables.  I know that is a broad generalization, but most of the time people comment things like tubby and slow bass, confused mids and rolled off highs.

Those comments usually come after changing to a new/different/better cable.

As Klaus says, synergy rules.  Try it and see.

I am no expert, but what equipment are you using?  You say you have an optical going from your sacd to your amp now, but you were inquiring about analog interconnects.  I'm confused.

Since you are already using the AR Pro Series cable, you might try their interconnect.  Sam Tellig in Stereophile said it was sooo good that it might be all anyone would ever need.  That is not an exact quote, just what I remember from the article.  I think it is also only $20 for a meter pair.

Here is a link to the Pro II Series which is $24.85

or for $69.80 you can get their high end cable:

I have not tried them, just a suggestion.

Ranmart,

Depending on your use, if you're looking at the Ultraconductors I'd also recommend DH Labs silver sonic bl-1.  You can find them very reasonably on audiogon and I know there are a couple people who make them and sell on ebay as well.  They use the DH Labs cable and they terminate them themselves.  I've had both but like my current cables, Zu Warmouth, better than either.

Here's the link for the DH Labs. - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3017985875&category=14965

Ranmart, have you thuoght of building your own ic's? I built 2 pair of Chris V's fine silvers' and like them just fine. Really sparkle without being bright on my rig. I'm just across the 401 from you, north of To. My cost was about C$100 per pair. You can get everything you need except the wire at Take Five. Have a look in my gallery if you want to see these ic's.

Ranmart,

Because they are trusted name you can probably not lose too much if they don't work well and you need to sell them used. Something to be said for trying relatively inexpensive wire (or gear or whatever) first before you move up the ladder.

Hope it works for ya' - changing out wire all the time is a P-I-A.

Here's a link. It will tell you how to build them and where to get the wire.http://www.venhaus1.com/diysilverinterconnects.html I am not aware of a Canadian supplier for the wire, perhaps someone else can help in this matter. But, as I said everything else you can get from Take Five.

Ranmart; I have a 7 ft. pair of Kimber 4tc that I just cut off my 17ft. pair that I would be willing to let go. They are bare, so you could either terminate them yourself or leave them bare. PM me if you are interested. This is a bi-wire pair. (4-7ft. lengths).

Although there are far better cables, (get your wallet out), and certainly diy is in that catagory, don't believe everything that you read. No offence, but you seem fairly new to this crazy hobby, so if I were you, I'd do alot of research on a product before I laid out the cash. That's what makes this site and others like it so valuable.

I have to agree with Markc, build your knowledge a bit (asking on AC is good) before spending major money. I have found that making your own cables is a cheap way to deepen your understanding of what different materials and geometries can do but also (and more importantly) develop your experience in what to listen for.
