3BSST Sensitivity Setting

I'm auditioning a 3BSST and am uncertain of the optimal sensitivity setting for the amplifier - 1V or 2V. I will be using a Van Alstine T7 preamplifier w/ single ended RCAs - any input on the proper setting or how this affects system interaction is much appreciated.

All other things being equal, I would suggest the 2V setting as that will provide more useful rotation of the preamp's volume control and lower overall system noise.

Frank - I just realized it was you.
I want you to know my first hi fidelity preamp was your Model 1 back in the days when Star Television in Toronto was your distributor.

In fact I was the Van Alstine rep for Canada for a while.

Will the S/N really be better at the 2V setting?
