I'll be mounting it on my TT and begin breaking it in this weekend. Any tips/tricks that I should be aware of?

Here's the setup:
Dynavector 20X-H on the DP-6 red dot arm
Custom TT with VPI MK III platter and motor (think a mini Aries sort of)

Some tricks that I've already heard of:
(1) burn in the tonearm wire and TT interconnect by running wire from the CD player on repeat to the cartridge clips - for a couple of days
(2) use the heaviews counterweight possible closest to the arm post
(3) what to do with the damping fluid?
(4) any others....

Thanks,
Bob

Check out Helge Gunderson's cartridge set-up link at Audio Asylum:

A while back I was seriously considering getting a Moerch.  You'll have to let me know how you like it.  What made you finally choose the Moerch over the others?  I too am using the Dyn 20x-h.  I love this cart!  It was the first time I finally understood why people really dug vinyl.

I'm replacing an Audioquest PT-6 on a custom TT. I couldn't fit an Aries or much else in my cabinet at the time so I had a plinth constructed from 1" of Corian and used VPI parts. It's very pretty and could be considered a pseudo-prototype for the Scout (but better looking).

So I needed an arm that was roughly the same size, roughly the same mounting distance, and I'm a little afraid of unipivots because this sits inside a cabinet with little room to make constant adjustments as such.

The DP6 was a pretty easy choice, but I did consider the Origin Live arms and the Mitchell Spacearm, some used SME's and such.

I'm mounting it and adjusting tonight after 4 days of burning in the wires. Best of all, the wife's out with the kids so the house is all mine. I can play as long as I like, or until they come home).

Enjoy,
Bob

Wow - so that's what a really good tonearm can do!!! Lots more detail everywhere. It's just much crisper overall. Bess is better - tighter and better integrated with the whole. Generally, that's the 1st impression, everything seems much more integrated and balanced.

The cartridge definitely seems more sensitive to VTA than before. Little movements make a greater change. I'm sure I'll be tweaking the balance once I play a few dozen records through it. It also doesn't seem very sensitive to anti-skate. The arm is very stable and tracks wonderfully. Very quiet too - almost no surface noise and pops and clicks are just about non-existant.

I'm going to enjoy this.
