A bargain at $5.99 a cryo'd foot.  Blew Alphacore Mi-2, Analysis Plus Oval 12 double run, AP Oval 9 biwire and Boulder M-80 out of the water in my sytem.

It is not perfect, but it is really nice for the price.   Your ears may tell you something different!

good luck.

I have used VH Audio 12awg cryo'd twisted pairs @ $2.99/ft. and Chris's cryo'd star quad @ $5.99/ft. with great effect in my two channel and home theater systems.  Just my 2 cents.

The ultimate giant killer is Paul Speltz's Anti-Cable IMHO.

I've also had great luck with Canare Star Quad 4S11 speaker cables (to my ears they sound better than my Kimber Kable 8TC and MIT Terminator 2 at the same 10' lentgh). You can usually find real good deals on both eBay and AudiogoN for the 4S11s...check 'em out!

I have no idea why they work..double cryo'ing might be part of the reason, but at Eric Hiders I compared my Ridge Street Audio Poiema! cables to his Gregg Straley speaker cables and on Eric's system (Epiphony 21/20 speakers, Gary Dodd 150W amps, Bent pre plus Stan Warren Superphon III pre) the Straley speaker cable sounded better.

I know what they are made of, but have no idea why they sound as good as they do.

Correct on the website....That's the first time I've seen it, thanks for the link...I just bookmarked it  :D

Eric has worked with Gregg for a long time and he wouldn't tell me much about the cable....and even if he did, I would have been sworn to secrecy  8)

I will say, I think you should try the 20 day trial and then tell me what you think of them....

You know I listened to them (sober) before I went out to the strip clubs....

If Gregg was easy to get ahold of I might have had my HT3's made with Straley wire   :o

As it is, I have yet to hear his wire in MY system....

Hi Grub and Marbles,

The Straley site is pretty barren, do you have any information on the cable pricing?

Thanks :D

It is very nice to hear from all members with great info on Speaker Cables. I have decided to hold out untill they finally ship me out the Bass Amplifier for my Gallo Ref 3's. I do not think I would be able to make a good decision with out hearing the overall picture, espcially with the dimensions of my listening room :?

I'm still looking for something to drive them (Maybe NuForce?)

No,  Eric Hider mentioned they were pretty cheap, although they are cryo'ed twice and broken in for you.

I would contact Gregg.  When you find out, please let us know, or even have him post in the Market Square section here.

I spoke to Gregg today and he seems like a terrific person.  He's designed his cables with real engineering to achieve his goals.  (Sorry, no virgin-rubbed-whatnots here..)  Anyway, the price for speaker cables is $225/8' pair.  Very reasonable to me.  He also said this was more of a hobby for him and he didn't intend to make it a big business.... But, I've invited him to post in Market Square anyway... and hope he'll stick around and enjoy the community here a bit.

I should be able to provide a review before too long of a couple of versions of his speaker cables... more to come...

Any indication what he charges per additional foot or what raw cable might cost?

There are multiple versions?  Didn't see that on the website...

I asked Gregg if his cables were more for tubed or SS gear... and got into a little discussion about digital as well.  He said he'd experimented with a couple of types of speaker cable and that people were having better success with 1 type of cable than another on digital stuff like the Teac's and Sonic Impact's etc... And I told him that I'd be using a TacT digital amplifier so he's sending me both to try to get my impressions.  I don't think he has any official offerings yet... he hasn't branded his cables or come up with slick names yet... And I don't know pricing/ft yet either... But I'm thinking of using it to rewire my speakers as well.... if I like them.

I don't want to speak too much for him and I'm hoping he comes to AC and starts a basic Q/A thread for people.  I've offered to help him with his site also.... and as soon as I hear the cables and talk to him more, I may be able to help him get something more organized, better looking, and more descriptive... but I don't know when that will be yet... Between my schedule and his, it likely won't be too soon.

I'll know more in the next couple of weeks and will certainly invite others to hear them... or I can take them somewhere else...

Thank you Marbles and Carlman!

That does sound like very reasonable pricing and something I'd like to try once my heart recovers from my last expenditure
