Or at least I'm assuming that as there hasn't been a thread on it. I just saw it tonight, and it really is a tremendous movie IMO. It avoids most all the tired cliches these "underdog" films are usually full of, the screen play is solid (albeit a bit corny at times) and the cast is top-notch. Russell Crowe puts in a great performance and Paul Giamatti should at least get his supporting actor nomination, if not win the Oscar. Hell, Even Rene Zellweger is good in this one. It's a feel-good movie that really makes you feel good, evidenced by the fact that the crowd in the theater cheered for the boxer during the fight scenes almost like we were watching a live boxing match. This is definitely a movie to see in the theater, and for the life of me I can't figure out why more people aren't going to see it.
