What's the community opinion about stacking speakers on OB subs? I've seen several examples of people doing it (pics below) but I think I read that some folks recommend not to do it.
I'm in wondering is NX-Otica could be stacked on to OB Double Troubles? Maybe if they are laying sideways like the 1st pic below? Maybe build them together so the speakers were built onto the subs using the subs as their base plate.

Yep, and that's the boat I'm in. I have an 8' wide wall With open spaces on either side. I plan to hang the speakers out as little as I can get away with in the open area. I figured stacking the speakers on the subs was my best option to get as much out in front of that wall as possible and still keep them out of the line of traffic in those rooms.

Based on that picture, your speakers are poorly placed. The good thing is the fix is free. We can help you determine a significantly better setup. We'll need details and measurements of your room(s).

That is true for box subs.  It is not true for OB subs.  OB subs sound best in a stereo config and also placed near the main speakers.

Room placement affects bass, regardless of subwoofer style, though to a lesser extent for OB subs. I've moved my OB subs independent of the speakers, and it matters. Nevertheless, the practical value of stacking speakers on OB subs is optimal, so that's what I do.

Geez. There's not much you can do with that room. Stacking speakers on subs will make them harder to move back and forth unless you put wheels on them. And since they won't be pretty, you'll have to spend twice as much to buy something nice for your wife. We call it "hush money."

The white top speakers are mine.  They were originally designed as a single tower.  I had the subs for several years before the top half kits briefly became available. I actually prefer this arrangement due to the weights of these.  25 pounds for top and 88 pounds for the bottom.  Fantastic performers!

The second image is mine. The OB subs have been the foundation of my system for 15 years. Stacking is a better long-term option from a financial perspective, since I have no need to buy or try more expensive floor-standing speakers. Another benefit of stacking is that my 8-watt amp only has to power highs and mids.
