Hello Everyone.
I'm brand new to the DIY speaker scene.  I've just completed (well, all but sanding & painting) a set of C-Notes.  They sound great, if I do say so myself.  In any case, I'm very happy to have found this forum and I'm looking forward to learning more as I progress as a DIY builder.

Welcome to the DIY side where no project is ever finished, they're just paused currently. I'm currently helping a friend build out a set of C-Note speakers and have built a few sets in the past. They are a good little base kit, and if you get into modifying parts, they really do upgrade quite well.

Some suggestions since you're still in process of continued building:

-Bracing and damping the cabinet is kind of a must for these as the thin ½" mdf does ring a bit. A little dowel from side to side really stiffens things up, and NoRez for the walls.
-Upgrading the wire and connectors to solid core wire and non-magnetic binding posts really help increase resolution.
-Lastly, internal parts are fine enough for a basic kit for minimal expense brings huge improvement. Bypassing the caps with a little JB or Obbligato cap really helps and replace that resistor with a good wire wound and those things will sound FAR better than they have any right to.

All in all, welcome to the party.

And yes, we're all suckers for build photos, so please share progress so we can enjoy in your labor as well.
