Hi All. I haven't posted here in an eternity.
I noticed that there are an increasing amount of manufacturers of GaN class D amp modules, for eg.
https://www.peakamplification.com/flexibles-products/am-700c1https://epc-co.com/epc/products/evaluation-boards/epc9192The EPC one seems to be a kit, but it seems aimed at consumer amp manufacturers.
My question is - are these reasonable DIY projects? For the EPC, for eg. does one just find an aluminum case (with appropriate ventilation / heat sinks) hook up the recommended power supply in the correct voltage inputs, and there you have an amp? It seems to come with RCA and XLR inputs, and speaker connections.
I know some companies like Orchard do complete kits, including soft start power circuits. It also refers to cap boards - I don't know if that is part of the audio circuit or something to clean up the power supply.
Would I be over my head? I can solder, and follow instructions - but that's about it.
Thanks!!
