Ciao a tutti.
« on: 2 Sep 2025, 06:36 pm »
Hi everyone, my name is Davide, I'm Italiano, and I recently moved to Texas.
I'm trying to assemble a new system here, starting right away with the most important thing: the listening room. The entire living room is now a restricted zone, dedicated exclusively to two-channel audio (I'm a lucky man, my wife loves music and shares my passion).  :thumb:
I immediately started buying CDs and vinyl here, too. I love having music in my life, regardless of quality and genre, but objectively my favorites are jazz, vocals, and '70s/'80s pop/rock.
The next components I'm considering are a preamp or a streamer, but first I need to resolve a strange issue with my DAC.

You could post your DAC question in The Discless Circle: https://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?board=133.0

  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.

Thanks for the link. I know it well. 👍🏻
I'm a firm believer in the listening room as the main component of the system.
I was very concerned about American homes made of wood and with low ceilings (8 feet would be illegal in Italy 😅), but I have to say that so far I'm not getting bad results.
I have a visceral repulsion for carpeting and am removing it from every room, even though I recognize that it helps a lot.
We'll see...

You must be one of the luckiest audiophiles in the world to have an audiophile wife! Welcome to the forum .

The funniest part is she's not an audiophile at all and she like big speakers like me.
She suffers from a medical condition called misophonia and can hear even small differences, without the risk of audiophilic psychoacoustics.
