I got one too on Black Friday special. So far I changed out the XLR opamps to Burson V7 classic. Power is from an HDPlex 300 with upgraded DC cable. I then swapped out the stock tubes for the Seimens E83cc from W. Germany. Wow, this T20 sounds good. I inserted it between my Eversolo A10 and Burson Voyager Timekeeper Max mono amps. The A10 was being used as preamp. I don’t hear any loss of resolution with the T20 in use which is surprising. Just some nice tube warmth etc…

I too picked up a T20 during the BF sales. Ridiculous price! Sounds pretty good.

I found the following tubes on eBay:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/195731835445

The GE JAN 6829 is pin compatible with the 12AX7. The 6829 provides about 70% of the power of the 12AX7, but I didn't notice a significant change in volume. The JAN indicates it is military spec. This eBay seller has them 2 x $8.99 with shipping included!
They sounded quite good so I ordered a 2nd pair.

"Comparing OPA828 to OPA2604, which was felt to synergize well with Aiyima T20, was an illuminating experience.  If one assigns OPA828 sound as neutral, OPA2604 seems to synergize well with certain components due to its seeming effect of moving a tiny bit of upper-midrange to low-treble energy to high treble, which results in very airy sound with a degree of forgiveness in the hot-recorded upper midrange.  This can be very pleasing with many digital sources and class-D amps.  OPA828 fights back with more information and neutrality in that upper-midrange to low-treble, minus extra airiness, making music more solid and textured in that area.

Definitely worth checking out both OPA2604 and OPA828 in a given circuit, as one is likely to be more synergistic than the other"

"OPA627. This one fills in most of NE5532 sins of omission in resolution while building out a little more density of tone, vocal liveliness and sparkle. Still not the last word in detail resolution, top-end air, or bass crunch but good enough in most of these areas as not to detract from enjoying one's favorite tunes. Most of all, the sound signature is instantly familiar and comfortable from years of exposure to the sound signature in various gear and DIY efforts. Two OPA627AU's adapted to DIP board can be found at reasonable prices and still a viable choice."

Thanks! I have OPA627s - they are in my Douk A5 currently. I need to check if I have the OPA2604 - if not, I'll order some. I just put in an order for some Sparkos 3602s.

I just put in an order for some Sparkos 3602s.

Hope the Sparkos 3602 works out better for you in your system than mine in T20  :)
