Looks like the last time I posted here was 2007 as 'pRC' - yoiks
Happy long-time DIY tube guy here in North Carolina. I've been a tube junkie since I first built a bottlehead kit in 1999.

Current projects: Tuning crossovers for active 4-way speakers built around Azurahorns with field-coil Lowthers running full range. Also several passed modding a Schiit Freya+

Current system... Analog in:

Lenco TT with reworked bearing, laminated cherry base

• Schick 12-inch tonearm with ebony 'donut' over brass counterweight
• Denon 103R cartridge transplanted into an alloy case

or Empire 298 TT with stacked plywood base

• Moth/Rega tonearm with Pete Riggle's VTAF (VTA adjuster)
• Ebony head shell spacer and Dynavector DV 20x (low) cartridge

> Bottlehead 'Eros' kit phono stage with internal RCA mic transformers, Dueland signal caps, custom Faraday cage case
(and MM inputs with other step-up XFMRs)

> Schiit Freya+ F preamp

• Tung-Sol mouse ear 6SN7 gain tubes
• CBS 6SN7 buffer tubes
• Replaced tube plate and cathode load resistors
• Replaced all four output caps with Dueland CAST PP/Silver 2.2uF 250V

> Bottlehead 'Stereomour' 12AT7:2A3 amplifier

• NOS 6201 driver tube and JJ 2A3 40 output tubes
• Split final B+ filter section into separate LC for each channel
• Lots of nice Mundorf parts in PS and signal chain
• 12 gauge copper top plate

> Field-coil magnet Lowthers in 160Hz Azurahorns (fiberglass front horn about a meter in diameter) running full range

Supporting the Azurahorns:
> Douk Audio T8 pro equalizer (NOS 6922 tubes) > 130W digital amp > Dual 15-inch Silver Iris OB woofers with second order low pass crossovers
> Schitt Vali3 (NOS 5670 tube) > Schitt REKKR 2W amp > Fostex T925a Alnico horn tweeters with first order high pass crossovers
