It is a total rip-off and there is no need to ever buy something like that.  You can do a better mod for $0.00.  Unscrew the plate and bypass the fuse by eliminating the fuse holder completely.

No.
I'd put the money towards new albums instead of a $185 fuse replacement kit.

I recently purchased a used pair of .7 Maggies. My Quad 2805 needs repairing. I have owned the 1.5 QR Maggies previously driven by the Mark Levinson 27.5 amp. It was the best sound I have ever heard or enjoyed for years.
When I hooked up the .7 Maggies to my 125wpc tube amp, the highs were a bit too much to listen to and the bass  sloppy. Some friends recommended the Magnepan Fuse and Jumper upgrade from Mike th OCD guy. I was initially hesitant but decided to give it a try. It was an immediate and noticeable  improvement in the higher frequencies and bass simply much better. The highs were much smoother and more enjoyable. I went from a sceptic to a believer. Another friend who has the Maggies LRS+ also experience much improvement in sound quality over the stock fuse.
Highly recommended. YMMV

I am not qualified to comment on this upgrade but if you are contemplating it, I suggest acting sooner rather than later. In one of his YouTube videos, Mikey indicated that he's not likely to continue to make more kits once he runs out as he now has more valuable (read profitable) things to do with his time.

So I kept searching for upgrades on the LRS+ which led me to a YouTube video by John Cardell.
This upgrade required no soldering and you only had to move 2 wires. The only tools you will
need are a Phillips screwdriver, a 7/16 socket or wrench, and 15 minutes total time to complete
both speakers.

Doing this procedure will stop protection to your tweeter panel if you do things like unplugging
plugging speaker cable with your amplifier on, and or dropping the needle or pushing play when
your amplifier volume is turned all the way up. This is foolish anyway and something that I would
never do.

The results after eliminating the fuse and jumper are real. There is more clarity and detail. The
tweeters sound smoother and more relaxed. They seem to play lower. They are not as bright on
recordings that I am very familiar with. Voices are more coherent and just seem to have more body
to them. Bass maybe a little stronger.

The LRS+ are great speakers for what they cost and sound even better after this upgrade. With them mated to my 2 REL's, it takes them to the next level.
Your mileage may vary as to what you hear versus what I hear.

Thanks to John Cardell for the DIY. Here is a half ass drawing of the wiring procedure.

Glad you went for it.  That's exactly what I was talking about in post 2 above.
