So I kept searching for upgrades on the LRS+ which led me to a YouTube video by John Cardell.
This upgrade required no soldering and you only had to move 2 wires. The only tools you will
need are a Phillips screwdriver, a 7/16 socket or wrench, and 15 minutes total time to complete
both speakers.
Doing this procedure will stop protection to your tweeter panel if you do things like unplugging
plugging speaker cable with your amplifier on, and or dropping the needle or pushing play when
your amplifier volume is turned all the way up. This is foolish anyway and something that I would
never do.
The results after eliminating the fuse and jumper are real. There is more clarity and detail. The
tweeters sound smoother and more relaxed. They seem to play lower. They are not as bright on
recordings that I am very familiar with. Voices are more coherent and just seem to have more body
to them. Bass maybe a little stronger.
The LRS+ are great speakers for what they cost and sound even better after this upgrade. With them mated to my 2 REL's, it takes them to the next level.
Your mileage may vary as to what you hear versus what I hear.
Thanks to John Cardell for the DIY. Here is a half ass drawing of the wiring procedure.
