I've had a DMP-A8 for about half a year. It's well made and reliable so far. It compares favorably to my former Holo May KTE DAC. I was not able to compare them side by side, but the resolution, soundstage, timbre, and other qualities don't jump out as substantially different. I was using the Holo May connected by USB to my Roon NUC (on the suggestion of Kitsune, the US distributor). The Eversolo is connected by ethernet to a dedicated switch with an IfI power supply. So, it's not an apples to apples comparison.
I think the integration of the ethernet streaming input with the DAC is an advantage for the Eversolo. The signal path into the DAC is very short and fully under control of the Eversolo. By contrast, the signal for the Roon NUC is ethernet coming into the Roon NUC, then the NUC sends it out via USB, through a 6-foot USB cable, and then into the Holo May. So, again, it's hard to compare the May as a DAC to the DAC in the Eversolo in isolation.
Also, I use the Eversolo as a Roon endpoint and play local files or Qobuz via the Roon app. 90% of my listening is local files. I've never found the native app in any streamer to be anywhere near as good as Roon sonically or in ease of operation.
I think to substantively improve on the Eversolo, I would get a stand-alone DAC and a high-quality streaming box with I2S output to the DAC. Or I would get an all-in-one streamer/DAC that costs twice as much.
Eversolo obviously launched an aggressive marketing blitz through the shady practices of YouTube reviewers. However, Eversolo did not create those review channels or their suspect practices. And I'm not aware that Eversolo has engaged in behaviors like Tekton and dCS in threatening or filing lawsuits against reviewers who had negative comments about their products.
The pricing of Eversolo products also seems unremarkable. Schiit makes a number of DACs that are less expensive than the Eversolo A6, for example. And the A6 is much more expensive than WiiM or SMSL products. The A6 and A8 seem to be priced to make a profit. You can get a WiiM Amp for $299 with a built-in streamer, Roon endpoint, Sabre DAC, and 60W amp. That's where the real cutthroat cheap pricing is happening, if that's how one wants to interpret it. I own a WiiM Amp and it sounds surprisingly good. It's a very listenable option for a good bedroom or office system.
So, I have not come across a truly objectionable issue with Eversolo's business practices and the quality of the A8 has been excellent in my use case.
