I must say that it is by far the speakers that respond the most to the break-in period. about 45-50 hours actually and the scale and bass have woken up so much. It was indeed light at first, and I told myself that it was normal, it's a monitor. But phew, in my room they begin to fill it with authority.
I had a good experience with this regarding a different speaker, but with 2 different sets of crossovers with the exact same parts. A friend and I own the same speakers and had revised crossovers made for them. I had both sets of crossovers. He isn't local and he wanted me to play with the setup.
I listen every day, quite a bit. I think it was over the course of about a month that it just kept getting better and better... I was telling him it just kept getting better. He finally came to listen / get his crossovers. Yes... I gave him the burned in crossovers.
Then, the second set went in with fresh parts. I had a direct comparison, and it just was not the same. The "magic" wasn't there... or at least a lot less of it. I told myself the same thing... "these will break in too".
150...200...400hrs...the caps are Sonicap on the tweeter and JB JFX on the woofer. (The JB JFX are really good)
Have fun.
