ST35 EL84 Based Tube Amplifier
SOLDThis is a 17 watt per channel, push-pull EL84 tube amplifier which was built and tested by tubes4hifi.com. Larger chassis size of 16W x 12D x 4H helps it run cooler than the smaller version.
The ST35 comes with both 8 ohm and 4 ohm speaker terminals. Purchased the amp from the original Buyer and had Mike Galusha look over the amp and install some changes.
The coupling caps are Jantzen Audio Silver Z--Caps matched with in 2%
I discussed the best way to take the cheaper gold plated binding post out and to install all new post ,he said a plate would have to be cut-so too expensive. I had on hand 2 pairs of cardas Rhodium binding post and asked would they fit , they did fit and improved sound above the cheaper post on the 8 ohm tap.The 4 ohm tap will share half of the new binding post, a bit unorthodox ,but sure worked out great !Amp has minor scratches on the chasses that are common with this type of amp , the face looks great
