I agree. Control is key.
I was on the edge of buying a few of the power 3's. But, I put in a call to them and the guy I talked to started telling me God had told him to start producing these cables. I talked to some other people that had used them and they thought they sounded OK but, nothing special.
The thing that really turns me off to any product is zealous advocates. There's a handful of real VD enthusiasts on AA and other places that 'sing the praises' every time there's a question. It's the same thing with the Odyssey amps. Too many 100% A+ type reviews and comments. Nothing is perfect... and not everyone can find that one thing is the best.... unless of course, it's a religion... hmmm.
I guess what I'm saying is, objectively, the cables are probably pretty good but, if you truly believe they are great, they will be... Of course, if you truly believe, it won't take long to work your way up the ladder for higher priced cables from VD.

Maybe I'm cynical but, the 'zealousness' that surrounds this product really turns me away. I'm still in the 'good power cords are great, better power cords are great too' camp. I guess I just haven't heard them make enough of a difference to pay hundreds or thousands of dollars to connect to the .06/foot wire that's in the walls.
