Power Amp connections

Hi, I'm sure that this has been asked before but if I connect my Bryston preamp to my Bryston power amp with XLR cables can I also connect my phono stage with volume control direct to the power amp with phono plugs?

I do something similar with a 4B3 amplifier here, which lets me use the input toggle switch to select XLR or RCA on the amp. You probably want to only have one source playing at a time though, even with this configuration.

Thanks for that - I'd have thought that it's got to be better to pass the phono signal direct to the power amp bypassing the preamp.
