1. Using a wall wart, is there a preferred mA rating, or is there any reason to expect that a 500 mA 12vdc would be less (or more) effective or sound different from a 1000 mA?

2) Is there any way to get power to two SonicT amps using just one wallwart or SLA battery? I know that with guitar effects pedals, you can use one wall wart and 'daisy chain' several in a row.

People have reported good results with 1.5-2Amp power supplies.  I use 7Amp linear PS b/c it was cheap on ebay, and the sound improvement was HUGE compared to 500mA wallwart I had on hand.  It'll sound like a different amp.  Search the ebay for Astron linear regulated power supplies.  Anything with 1.5 Amp or above will do fine.

How do you wire the PS with the + and - connectors to the SI? Pictures demostrating this would be great.

To power 2 SI's you just hop on down to RatShack and buy two mini plug adapters with cables.  About $10.  They have spades for +/- and you can stack the spades in the power supply's terminals or SLA's alligator clips.  I tried a 5amp cigarette adapter cable and didn't care for the sound.  The gauge of the cable seems to have a softening effect.

I got the Astron RS-7A regulated linear PS off ebay.  It's 7Amp, SI totally doesn't need, but it was on auction and was cheap    Anything 1.5A or above should be more than enough.

I made my own cable using some teflon silver-plated wire and the little round plug I had lying around.  It should be center-positive in U.S. (red thumscrew to center pin).

So, with this setup, aren't you minimizing the amount of power going to each amp or at least reducing the length of charge time on your SLA?
