BCD-3 Remote (BR-2?) - stopped working, suggestions?

Greetings to all the smart folks.  Hopefully this is an easy one and someone has a ready answer.

I have a remote that came with my BCD-3.  Recently it went from intermittent operation to none at all. I've unplugged the player to no avail.  Any suggestions?

Also check if any of the remote buttons are stuck in the down position. Common problem on my BR-2 remote.

Batteries replaced. Check!

I played with all the buttons and the remote started working.  Thank you.

I just replaced the batteries in my remote after about a year
