Clever people,

Came across this site researching for a copper-litz speaker wire project. Having experienced a lot with different Duelund cables, I'd got interested in making a speaker cable based on pure copper instead of tinned copper (as is the material mostly available today).

I came across the products from Jupiter, which are mentioned here:

I'm especially interested in the discussion of how to avoid oxidation. The traditional Duelund cables were based on pure silver in a sleeve of silk that was treated with raw linseed oil for several days at low temperatures.

I'd be interested in doing something similar with around 8 strands of Jupiter AWG 23 wire (which would correspond to AWG 16, if my calculations are right).

That sums up why I wanted to join this forum.

Current setup is Sugden A21SE Signature amplifier, Leben RS-EQ 30 RIAA, Harbeth M30's & a Project X2 turntable.

Best,

Kasper

Hi Kasper, Most speakers Iv'e owned were Dynaco's from your neck of the woods. They had screw terminals so you could tighten down on the..I use the finest sandpaper and  make the copper shiny . Then tightening down gives a better flow of electrons, think battery terminals in a car.If the connection is good and tight the soft metal, copper will make a better connection than with light pressure.Less oxidation will occur if oxygen can't get in there. I'm half Danish so I used Vifa's on these and painted the flag! Good to meet you....Mark Korda
