Greetings to All,

I got a notification from Darko re: Hegel  H120 & H190 finally Roon Ready. I ran home & successfully updated Hegel firmware, and low & behold, my Hegel H120 showed up as a Roon Ready device in Roon. This has been a sore subject for a couple of years now. So much so that many have been really soured on Hegel based on all the delays & excuses. No word yet on H390 & H590...Many including myself bought Hegel for the great amplification, but also on the promise of Roon readiness as part of the equation. Many others, (including me) figured it was never going to happen, and bought additional Roon Ready gear to supplement the Hegel failures. So, good news for those of us who have been waiting & waiting & waiting. Since this is my introduction post, my current desktop/nearfield system consists of: etherRegen internet switch--->small green computer Roon Core--->Bricasti M5 Streamer--->RME ADI-2 DAC FS dac--->Teddy Pardo Power Supply (for RME)--->Hegel H120 Amp--->Harbeth P3esrXD Speakers. I also have an Audiolab 6000CDT cd Transport & Pro-Ject evo carbon tt in the system, although mostly streaming these days. The RME dac is connected to the Hegel via audio envy balanced xlr's. (the audio envy cables really made a very noticeable difference). As I'm sure most of us have drawers full of cables, this setup is currently running Nordost White Lightning speaker wire...Anyhow, the journey continues!

Welcome to AC!

My aging eyes can't quite make out the album cover in your moniker. What is it?

As FRM has noted....that recording is by The Mahavishnu Orchestra with John McLaughlin, titled "The Inner Mounting Flame". Certainly one of the most influential, landmark, jazz rock fusion albums of all time. Stands shoulder to shoulder with Bitches Brew & In a Silent Way, which as it turns out, McLaughlin played on both. One of the most intense albums to come out of the 1970's fusion era. This ain't no elevator music. As a little kid, I had shown an interest in guitar based rock of the period, mostly overheard from my artist-older sister's room. As strange as it may seem, she gifted me this album when I was in the 3rd grade and said "here....try & figure this out". Well, figure it out I did. That was the start of a lifetime love affair with music. 50 years later, it stands out as my all time favorite album; one that I still listen to. 2800 cd's later, mostly instrumental jazz, classic rock, modern classical, classical Indian and lots more, (not to mention the endless supply of music on Qobuz, Tidal & Pandora), I'm still as passionate and curious as that wide eyed 3rd grader. I've been to countless live shows, and can't wait to get back to those. My other passions are good food, high quality audio gear, Swiss watches and fine whisky...Thanks for the warm welcome.
