What a bummer!  I just read that Marvin Lee Aday aka Meatloaf has died at 74.  Some of his music was bombastic and over the top but it was a big part of my youth.  RIP, Mr Aday, you will be missed.

I saw Meat Loaf live in 1978 during the Bat Out of Hell tour at the Uptown Theater in KCMO. There were tables in the pit area in front of the seats. Our group has at a table next to the stage on the center left. We were occasionally splashed with his sweat during the concert. Everybody was up dancing in the aisles and on the tables. Really high energy concert. Karla DeVito sang the female lead.

I have a good friend who got to know him a little at the 2001 G.W. Bush Inaugural Ball. He danced with her. She said he was a very kind, humble person which is consistent with what I have heard from others and read about him.
