Bryston 7B SST & 7b SST2
« on: 4 Jul 2021, 06:43 pm »
I have 5 Bryston amps. 2 7B SST2 2 7B SST and one 7B ST and I have run into a bit of a problem ( I think it can be fixed? ) anyway I run the amps to feed my set of Wilson Sabrina and a Wilson Watch 3 center.  My problem is, if I run 2 7B SST2 for my fronts and one of my 7B SST for my center ( I run my rears wireless for now ) those are a set of YU 4. Due to limited space in my listening room.  One or more of the 7B SST2 amp lights grow dim and if I turn off the amps they don’t want to come back on until I unplug them from the wall. If I turn off the center amp being one of the 7B SST the 7 B SST2s work fine. The 7B sst amps also work fine. If I remove the 7B SST from feeding my center and replace it with the older 7B ST the 3 amps work to fine. I would like to run one of the 7B SST as my center amp because those amps sound better then the 7B ST.
What do you all think?

Hi,
The Starting Block Circle is really for people to introduce themselves.
This question/thread is best posted in the Bryston Circle, so I wll move it there for you now.

I think the amps are starved for power.

I suspect these amps (along with other items) are all plugged into a single 15 amp outlet and it's not suffice for this load. Have an electrician add some circuits.

Yup that’s the problem. Another problem we have is hat are renting the condo we are now living in so I can’t have an electrician add a dedicated circuit for any of my equipment. The good thing is we’re in the process of building our new house and there’s a media room going into the new house and it’s being built by audio professionals so that problem will completely go away come this December.😃
Thanks!
