Bryston Bit 20Power Conditioner
« on: 20 Feb 2021, 08:22 pm »
Hello

Would anyone like to chime in

maybe if I'm lucky Mr Tanner himself

when it comes to the actual understanding of the deeper X's and O's of electronics in I'm certainly no genius

so if i may ask

if i grab a Bit 20   should i plug everything into it   including my BCD3 and my 3BSST2 or does that limit the amp and CD player's abilities...

i am aware that the ears are the true test... however the purchase could happen before the ears can test

Thanks everyone....Be well

Hi

I would stick with the 20.  I recommend the 15 for source gear but once you get into power amplifiers I would go with the 20 for a number of reasons.

Thanks for the reply and advice James...

if i may ask you or anyone who happens by

some of my source equipment has old 2 prong plugs  my Kenwood Rock Turntable for example

my older Adcom Pre Amp which is used as a Phono amp is 2 pronged as well

while my various Bryston products and  Moon phono amp are 3 pronged

i see via internet photos what the 10 rear input outlets look like

therefore the real qustion is can all of these source plugs be safely inserted or should I be changing out the 2 prong plugs

lastly and most important   the main (ill call Bit 20's output plug)

can it be plugged into my 3 prong socket in my wall  ( i would think that it is standart 15amp wall socket found in most homes)

or am i looking at an upgraded wall socket with a 20 amp line  rather than the 15 amp i would have to assume that it is now)

i really do apologize to all who may help as my electricity knowledge is obviously lacking..

Thanks

Hi

Yes you are OK plugging in 2 prong products.

The BIT 20 can be ordered with an optional 20 amp to 15 amp line cord so you can plug it into a standard 15 anp wall socket.  Then if you ever change the power feed to a 20 amp service just change the cord.

best

Glad I found a nice used BIT 20 as it makes a noticeable improvement to the overall soundstage. Just need to find a silver faceplate now.
