The first time I heard the Statiks they were driven by 300 w/ch solid state gear. I was extremely impressed!
I’ve driven them with 18,35, 40, 60, and 140 watt tube amps and they sound great with all of them. Consider the size of your room. The bigger the room, the more power you’re going to want.
I agree with the others that your starting point should be 30 watts or so. A VTA70 is a great tube amp to start with and highly recommended.
http://www.tubes4hifi.com/bob.htm#ST70No need to modify the amp for bass frequencies. All you need is to figure out a low pass filter cap based on the input impedance of the amp. I believe the VTA70 is 270K. It’s just a cap you put inline at the inputs of the amp.
