Hi all. :D I have been looking to change my cable between my pre and amp. As a DIYer I can't help thinking of rolling them myself.

Anyway, there are many desings out there. My aim is to get final gauge of about 18-20ga. But I can't seem to choose between multi-strands of the same gauge (e.g. 31ga) Or multi-strands of different gauges (e.g. 33ga+31ga+29ga) Which do you think would be a make a good 2.5 meters run of cable?

Also, is there an easy way to calculate the final ga of multi-strands of different sizes?

Anyway, comment and help would be greatly apriciated.

Thanks

I think you might want to check out VenHaus' free silver IC recipe. They are damn nice ICs.

Wow! :o That was a fast respond.

Thanks Josh. I found the site. Silver, simple and cotton insulated! Very interesting. I will have to do some more investigating on this.

Thanks again Josh. Maybe I'll see you at the next rave.

Here's a very useful cable guage table.  It gives you the mm^2 of each guage so you can simply add 'em up!
