Actually ¨magges¨ are not so very power hungry, rather they do require properly behaved power supplies. Think of them as current sink transducers.
For 20+ years I ran the T-1D's with Quicksilver 8417 60w mono-blocks with exquisite results.
However, the T-1D's were the mid-range with all four T-1B bass panels driven by Quatre DG250C and of course my Sequerra T-2 tweeters singing above on a M. Levinson ML-9.
My point is that the 60 watt Quicksilver 8417 never sounded less that Mesmerising, perfectly blended, stunning inner voice detail. An opera lovers dream!!! Of course when an output tube finally plated out .... well equally stunning silence.

BUT as all here aver, very careful attention to the synergetics between system components or the lack thereof, will quickly make its self known through ¨maggies¨.
