Hello all , new here.

I`m Interested in most things Audio , except the often absurdly priced " high end "  offerings.

This seems to be quite an active forum , which is somewhat unusual these days.

Welcome Victor :thumb:
An easy way to be out of the Hi-End Carrousel are DIY and hi sensitivity speakers which needs a small tube amp, usually inexpensive.

I agree whole heartedly with your comment , FullRangeMan . I am listening to a very humble pair of point source full ranger desktop speakers I built two years ago  , for  ( almost ) no money and must say , I still like them .

I don`t know if i still have build photos on the hard drive , but if i can find them , where is the best place to post these ?.........

They are  a very modest  build , nothing  as elaborate and impressive as what I have seen here so far.

Here is one I found ....2.5 liter vented box   ( compact  )  for  3.5 inch Visaton FRS8 ( 4 ohm ) full range drver .

Welcome!

It's a great time to find affordable, good sounding streaming based systems.

An example: NAD Node 2i ($500, streamer, DAC, preamp); JBL 305 MkII ($200/pair active monitors); monthly streaming CD quality subscription service with millions of selections ($20/month or less - Tidal, Qobuz, or Amazon HD).  No computer needed.

Great solid cabinet ! Most expensive loudspeakers have not Baltic Birch but plain MDF. If you can, try the B200 in a 200L sealed box.

I used 18 mm  ( 3/4 inch )  Meranti marine plywood FullRange Man.

I then coated the boxes with epoxy resin to  give a good stable base for paint .
I did this because the lines where the pieces are joined together often " print through " the paint finish after a few weeks .
It`s been two years , and I cannot see any glue lines anywhere.

For their size , they are quite heavy .

I found some , but not all of the build pictures .

I have heard good things about the B200 FullRangeMan , thank you for the reminder.

They may well be the next project.
