I stumbled onto this site when googling Signet tk5ae. I didn't even know it existed.
I am a member of several hi-fi sites and notice each has an emphasis. Some in music, some in equipment, and some in types of equipment.
I sold hi-fi in the Seattle area between 1976 and 1982 before entering IT. One of the guys I used to work with STILL works at Definitive Audio on Roosevelt.
Though I have a lot of information stored in my brain, most of it is dated, since I re-entered the hobby a couple of decades ago and, after moving to a "hobby farm" in central KY, a lot of my time is spent on outdoor activities, clearing trails, etc. So I'm still all about vintage. It means I can tell some stories (whether or not they are interesting is up to the reader) and I can offer advice based on old wisdom. But much of this is new to me.
Looking forward to getting into the fray.
My avatar is of the first "good" system I ever owned, though that photo was yanked off the internet. I built it all from kits. I was around 19 at the time and it was a lot of fun. It was Dynaco 400 amp, Pat5 Preamp, and I forget the tuner name.
