Yes, 48v King mono though. So that's only 200 watts into 4Ω.
I had the 48v STM. For sure wasn't enough muscle for the Maggie's. The Golden Cherry 400 watt per channel monoblocks! As my French friend says....... PARFAIT!
Golden Cherry is the top-of-the-line Cherry Maraschino Amplifier. Output is 200Wpc into 8Ω, 400Wpc into 4Ω, or 800Wpc into 2Ω. SNR is 118dB. THD+N at 10W is 0.002%. These are DC coupled and balanced end-to-end. RCA adapters are included to accommodate single ended inputs. Pretty sure all Mags are 4Ω NOMINAL. The 1.7, for example, is more varied than the LRS, and goes below 2Ω at 20kHz. The LRS is lower than 4Ω through the entire audio range. Thanks.-Tommy OWhich means the LRS is a pretty tough speaker for an amp to drive, correct?

Exactly!! This is why the STM (Stereo Maraschino) might have a problem driving them unless you have the 60V 1kW power supply.

I ordered mine on 1/3 and just received them, so almost 16 weeks. Unfortunately they sent the wrong color so I need to exchange for off-white.
My Schitt Aegir seems to work OK @ 40 WPC in a 11x20 room.
give it a couple more weeks - once you get over the infatuation of these speakers and you will crave an amplifier with loads more power
I received black fabric with natural oak trim. They look really nice, but don’t fit with the rest of my listening room. Magnepan customer service is outstanding though, and exchanging them will not be a problem. I jumped off the upgrade merry-go-round a couple years ago and am learning to enjoy what I have rather than always looking for the next best thing. It helps that I live in a condo and listen at relatively low volumes, so the Aegir may work out.
I believe you. But after spending way too much money over 40+ years searching for the perfect system, I’ve finally decided to enjoy the music instead of chasing the next-best piece of equipment.
The key for me was stepping away from the typical "audiophile approved" loudspeaker and into what some would call the "fun speaker" category.
and i also agree - the proliferation of reviewers saying that this amplifier or speaker is so great - only to get said piece of equipment home - and be disappointedcause i really thought - this will be the one - this piece of equipment will change my life - only to find - that - that equipment is over-rated - and my search would continuei occasionally buy a new piece of equipment still - and am still disappointed for the most part. I expect so much more
