I read all the 9 pages of this thread and I see lack of respect from some peoples. It’s suppose to be a positive discussion and not a provocation. This discussion goes round and round.  :duh:
Who will stop it??

"Who will stop it??" Sorry Mother Teresa is not currently available.

Who will stop it??
No one
Not until it is close to being WW III
And this thread so far, is not even a tiny skirmish... compared to some wire 'discussions/fights/ battles/war zones/wire Armageddons ..'

Better to think of it as "THEATER"

The OP said power cables make a difference for him, the results are easily heard, no snake oil. This was your reply:

So you have no proof, and wouldn't care to provide it if you did. HAH HAH HA HAH HAH HA...

There simply is no proof. Only sketchy, bombastic rhetoric. HAH HAH HA HAH HAH HA...

I wish people would stop asking for proof. I also wish people would stop supplying there own personal experience as proof...on many subjects.

I am chiming in with facts and resources. Your just trolling

The response you quoted was NOT directed to the OP, it was a response (quoted even) to a post by Elizabeth. Please get your facts straight.

Exactly what "facts/resources" have you presented? I see a lot of promotional information from cable sellers. Hardly call those facts.

In my case, I just stopped it on my computer.    I temporarily put the Bryston circle on my ignore list.

Go back and look at my posts if you're curious.

Done. I found zero posts containing factual information pertaining to power cords.

Agreed.

I think this is worth a re-post, as there is actual factual information from an engineer who designs cables for a living.   :o

Only thing I ever did was make sure the outlets are highest quality Hubbell's, grounded properly and 2 separate circuits.
I then made up 2- 4 x 4 boxes with 2 Hubbell duplex receptacles in each, ran few feet of Belden #19364 with foil shield and drain wire to those
other end goes to quality wall plug(Bryant)
Equipment gets plugged into those

I used some built up wires to go to my sets of on the floor duplex boxes. I used to be happy with Pass & Seymour heavy duty duplex.
Then I went wild and replaced them all with Furutech.

A video with an explanation of power cables and a simple demo you can do at home to prove it yourself b Paul McGowan. He states at about 3:00 into the video that "engineers" give power cables the BS award... UNTIL they HEAR the difference. They may not be able to explain it but ALL of them can hear a difference. He GETS the skeptics and even says let the haters buy any piece of crap cable you want while the rest of us just ENJOY the benefits of our high end audio system. Go ahead and laugh, we are OK with it:

The video referenced is unconvincing.  Same old "Emperor's New Clothes" reasoning.  Frankly, the inference is a bit insulting, but par for the course in the world of high end audio.

Still, folks can spend their money on audio as they wish.

There is NO video that will ever convince anyone. He said IN the video that the ONLY thing that convinced the "objectivest" engineers was LISTENING. He also said it is OK to laugh at posters like the witchdoctor, I get it. You and timind and whoever else can listen with ANY cord your heart desires while the OP, the witchdoctor, Elizabeth, Steve N. (the AudioEngnr), and the other people posting about higher end power cables that they like in this thread ENJOY our high end systems, it's OK. 8)

Again, there was zero "factual" information in the PS Audio video. What do we expect a seller of after market power cords to say about them? But, yes we can all enjoy our music listening however we want. We can laugh at you, and you can laugh at us, and the world keeps turning. I enjoy these threads, even though I they just go round and round.
I'd love to hear your system, and I'd love to have you spend some time listening to mine. That would be fun I believe.

One question though, how much improvement in sound would I get upgrading the power cord on this amp?

I'm guessing it's 18 gauge and 50+ years old.

Good question. Triode Wire Labs got GREAT feedback at Axpona and have a circle right here. I have 0 relationship with the company. What I recommend is start a thread in their circle with pics of your system (not just your amp) and ask the same question. You'll probably get replies from members with similar equipment or maybe even the owner of TWL.
My personal approach is to always start an audition with the BEST power cord the company sells (with 0 intention of keeping it) just to hear what it might do. If the answer is zilch I send it back for a refund. If the answer is OMG :o now you have a benchmark and order the cord you can actually afford to keep. You'll be able to tell how close you can get to that bar of their top of the line and make a decision accordingly.
