I was a great fan of teflon coated solid core CAT 5. Four strands for interconnects, 8 strands for spreaker cables. They sounded best with Eichmanns.
I met Scott Faller in St Louis. He gave me some interesting multistrand silver coated copper, with a silver coated shield. Both layers of insulation are a teflon fused layer
Scott has a review of theses cables in Enjoy The Music, about half way down the page.
http://www.enjoythemusic.com/magazine/viewpoint/1104/joeaudiophile3.htmI made up 2, 3 and 4 strand cables. One end is terminated in Eichmanns, the other end is directly wired to a DACT input selector switch. Most of us prefer 2 strand, one prefers 3 strand (one signal, two returns).
It sounds better than the CAT 5.
I have since rewired the GK-1 and AKSA 55 with this stuff. I use two strands of it for my speaker leads.
I get a big improvement in getting rid of connectors and sockets. My speaker leads are directly soldered to the spaeker lugs. The other end is directly soldered to the AKSA power board.
I ignore the shield. Leave it there, but don't use it.
