Deadpool 2018

My 2 cents.  Full disclosure I have Moviepass and T-mobile.  I see nearly every major release with my family or alone with nary a soul in the theater around noon weekdays.

Deadpool was a fantastic flick   Deadpool 2 was not as good, but entertaining with sensibilities and morals that I could relate to.  Just like I could see Thanos logic and empathize with his plight and final decision.  Not so much Star Lord's.  Can't wait to see my favorite Wizard's plan come to fruition.

The inside jokes were plentiful while the cocaine and cure for blindness was a fantastic full circle morbid chuckle.  I will repeat that I took my 13 and 15 yr olds to this movie.  The good guys are plentiful and the bad guys stay true to form.

I will see this movie again, as it was a $4 movie and not a Moviepass freebie.  Not the best movie I have seen this year, total this year in theaters:29.  But, definitely in the top 7.  It is going to be a cool summer, cuz DC summers sizzle and AC in Regal is par excellence.

I'd agree on your review of the flick. Completely different from you, the last movie I saw in the theater was Deadpool 1. Ha!
I watch a ton of stuff at home but can't get myself to sit through the possibility of what I might find to be rude behavior (phones and chatting) around me. Too bad too. The experience at the theater is almost always better then at home. Noon showings are a great idea but then you don't get the energy of the crowd, which I feel can enhance the experience.
Since you brought it up. What would you say were your favorites this year?

It was not as good as the first but it was entertaining.  The inside jokes were great.  Loved the scene about Green Lantern at the end. The people that are put off by the profanity should have expected it. Most movies these days use profanity and many shows on cable use profanity and nudity.  Get over it, you don't have to watch it.  With out the profanity and nudity it would be campy.  It works with the film.  It is an adult film and not for young children.  Kids see and hear worse at school.

I found the most entertaining and worth my time, I am a history buff(oon) in order the ones at the end not so much

The Post  (WA post and feminism)
Darkest hour  (Racist leading a scared country)
I, Tonya  (White trash fighting to break through)
Operation Red Dawn (think 80's US films like Top Gun) -Chinese military propaganda hoorah
The greatest Showman  (Entertainer teaching the masses what they really want)
Blockers  (Sexism exposed)
DP2  (Doing the right thing)
Avengers  (Doing the socialist humanitarian thang)
Ready Player One  (Get out and play)
A quiet place  (Never give up)
Tully  (New father's err men in general can be clueless)
Red Sparrow  (manipulation in action)
Traffic  (damn)
Game Night  (Oh just what I needed after these past movies)

The rest of them

Annihilation  (I love scifi, this did not make sense)
Tomb Raider  (fun, not a must see unless you want live action reminisce of your past gaming)
Death wish   (ok, but no Charles Bronson)
Overboard   (I think I like it better than the original)  and I enjoy Goldie.)
I feel pretty  (good message, fluff piece)
Breaking In  (kinda dumb, didn't really care about the subjects, longtime fan of the lead actress)
12 Strong  (honestly don't know what the premise of this was, kinda like an 80's throwback hoorah movie, but missed the bullseye)
Den of Thieves  (forgetful, seriously I don't remember what this one was about)
Gringo  (farfetched, could have been soo much smarter)
SuperTroopers 2  (Lived in Canada for 3 years, I enjoyed the moose shit out of this one, put down your brain and enjoy) Saved the best for last, eh

The rest of them

Annihilation  (I love scifi, this did not make sense)

Actually the movie made a lot more sense than the first book, which was Annihilation, but the book was a lot better, a total head spinner because it was describing the unknown. The second and third books pull it all together. I recommend reading the Southern Reach Trilogy: Annihilation, Authority, and Acceptance by Jeff VanderMeer.

I read the books in 2015 so Annihilation was easy to follow but director Alex Garland cut out most of the important stuff and kept some of the action and totally changed the ending. If Garland followed the books closely and made a trilogy he would be remembered as a genius instead of just another pretty good director.

Annihilation was dumb. It looked pretty, but it was dumb.

Although DP2 had more action DP had a better story line....Also DP2 had too many political SJW references that I thought was inappropriate.

To be fair, Marvel = SJW at this point. I just block that part out when I decide to see their movie. Not seen DP2 yet though. Looking forward to it.

For me, first Deadpool was 9 rating and was pleasantly surprised. I would agree with earlier assessment made here and give DP2 a 6 max.
