Ok, dumb question here. I recently blew a fuse in my Sony S7700. It is a 2A/125V 5mmx20mm fast-blow fuse. When I went to my local hardware store to get a replacement, they looked at me cross-eyed like "where the heck did you get this fuse??" (and they are normally very good). I have checked a bunch of online sources (eg. partsexpress.com, acehardware.com, etc)....and no one seems to have this particular fuse.Anyone know a good place to get these things?
Still can't find a 2A/125V fuse, tho...
I am looking for the Bussmann Gold Plated.
FWIW: The local electronics repair guy told me that I could use a 250V fuse in place of a 125V fuse at the same amperage rating and all would be fine. I did so in an amp and have no problems to date. Also, he warned that the opposite could not be done (using a 125V to replace a 250V). His opinion was that a different voltage rating would be okay as long as it exceeded the original fuse voltage rating.I'm not sure if this information is correct, but he convinced me at the time...
Is there a reason you do not want to get the same voltage fuse?
